Which is more effective, a non-powered roller line or a powered roller line?

There is no absolute "better" between non-powered roller lines and powered roller lines. They are suitable for different production scenarios. Considering your needs in lean production line planning, cost control, and automation transformation, you can choose according to your requirements.

Which is more effective, a non-powered roller line or a powered roller line?

1. Non-powered roller line

The gravity roller conveyor line does not require electric power for driving, relying on the self-weight of the material or manual assistance for pushing and rotation. With an extremely simple structure, it serves as a basic conveying device for low-cost, short-distance transfer.

Core advantages: The initial procurement cost is only 30%-50% of that of power lines of the same specification. It has zero energy consumption and almost no electrical wear parts. The annual maintenance cost is only about 30% of that of power lines. It can be temporarily assembled and adjusted in length according to the site.

Application scenarios: Short-distance transfer between workstations within 3 meters, temporary storage of finished products, warehouse loading and unloading, sorting tables, and other manually assisted scenarios, suitable for light loads up to 50kg per item.

II. Power roller line

The powered roller line, driven by a motor and a frequency conversion system to rotate the rollers, can precisely control the conveying speed and start-stop rhythm, making it a core conveying equipment for automated continuous production.

Core advantages: The maximum load capacity per meter can reach over 1000kg, with a conveying speed adjustable from 0.1 to 2m/s. It features stable timing and a long-distance continuous conveying efficiency that is 3-5 times higher than that of non-powered lines. It can be interfaced with other automated equipment to achieve unmanned assembly line operations.

Applicable scenarios: Long-distance continuous conveying over 5 meters, heavy-duty material transfer, assembly lines with fixed production rhythms, and docking scenarios that require linkage with automated equipment.
